What sizes are KEA Cabins?
The KEA Deluxe cabin is 5m long x 2.4m wide PLUS a deck measuring 800mm.
The KEA Gold and KEA Diamond cabins are 5.7m long x 2.4m wide with side entrance ranch slider door
External height clearance needed is 3.3m height
For a long term hire we can build a cabin size to suit your specific requirements, so feel free to give us a call to discuss.
How much space will I need?
You will need approximately 8m x 3m of reasonably level ground.
How do I connect to power?
We supply a 10 metre long heavy duty lead with your cabin and 3 pin plug adaptor.
The cabin can be plugged into any normal three-pin power point in your home or you can plug directly into a builder’s pole/box with a caravan fitting. Longer cables are available on request.
What electrical does it have?
Each cabin has two or four double power points, two internal lights and an exterior light.
All our cabins come with an electrical warrant of fitness (EWOF), RCD, and circuit breaker switchboard. You can safely use any electrical appliances in your KEA Cabin.
What colours are the cabins?
All our cabins come in neutral shades – either a light brown or off white to fit into most surroundings.
Will we need a building consent?
No. As our cabins are delivered on wheels, they do not come under the Building Act.
Is a bond required?
Yes, the bond is between $500 & $1,000. At the end of the hire period when the cabin is returned, in the same excellent condition as when we delivered it, your bond will be refunded in full.
Do I get my bond back?
Yes. Provided you have returned your cabin in the same clean and undamaged condition, as it was when it was delivered.
What other costs are there?
When we deliver your cabin we will charge three weeks’ rent in advance which will cover the final three weeks’ of your contract. Simply give us three weeks’ notice of when you want to finish and stop your automatic payment, we will pick up the cabin on the agreed date.
Is there a delivery fee?
Yes. Delivery includes placement and levelling of your cabin, as well as collection at the end of your lease. Delivery costs will vary depending on where you want to site the cabin. We will confirm a delivery cost when we send you a quote.
Is there a collection fee?
No collection fee, this is included in the delivery fee paid at the start of the hire.
Do you deliver the cabins?
Yes, we tow the cabin to you. We will set your cabin up and level on your site. If you want your cabin moved (for example if you are moving house) we can do this for a small fee.
Can I tow or move the cabin myself?
No. We need to do that for you. If you need to move your cabin, please contact us.
Do the wheels stay on?
No. We will remove the drawbar and the wheels when we level the cabin on your property.
Do they have curtains?
Yes. All KEA cabins come with thermal backed curtains.
Do they have carpet?
No. The cabin floor is linoleum which is easy to clean. Many people prefer to put mats over the lino flooring to make cleaning easier.
What can I fit inside a KEA Cabin?
You can fit one or more office desks, filing cabinets or a single, double or queen-sized bed, chest of drawers and other furniture. See our floor plans for more options or call us to discuss.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Yes. The minimum rental period is normally six months, however, if you have a special request for a shorter period, we are happy to discuss options so please ask us.
What do I do when I’m finished with my KEA Cabin?
Once you have completed your minimum rental period you only need to give three weeks’ written notice, at which time you can stop your automatic payment. We will then collect the cabin on the agreed date.
Can I rent a KEA Cabin if I am on a benefit?
Yes, just let us know when you enquire that you are on a benefit and we can help you through the process with WINZ.
